  • --- Church Cleaning

Announced by Sheldon Bryan on Oct 23 2010

The church board has voted to have Sis Amanda Barbosa to be responsible for cleaning our church on a weekly basis. At the business meeting, we will hand out a detail listing of what Sis Amanda is expected to do and how we are expected to support the work that she does. Sis Amanda has already done a lot to ensure that our church will look beautiful and clean each Sabbath when we have services here. She has her responsibilities and we have ours. To ensure that this process goes smoothly, we are requesting a few things from the church:

    1. As you leave church look over your pew and remove all loose leaves or other bits of paper
    2. If you use the classrooms to the back, please return the chairs and tables in the order that is posted on the walls
    3. The mother’s room adjacent to the sanctuary is for mothers and toddlers 5 years and younger with parental supervision.

On another note, we are going to be organizing our kitchen utensils and labeling the closets and drawers to help us know where we should return utensils and other material after we have used them. There are some items in the kitchen that we don’t think we will be using in the future. If you have personal items in the kitchen that you will need, we are asking that you bring them home with you either this week or next week. Any items remaining after October 31 will be sorted and we will only keep those things that after consultation we feel will be used in the kitchen.

  • --- Surveys

Announced by Sheldon Bryan on Oct 23 2010

We are handing out two separate but equally important surveys today in our service. The first is a Pastoral Effectiveness Survey that will help us express and help the pastor gauge how the direction in which we have been moving in the six months since he has been here. It is still early within his ministry here, but the pastor believes that through consistent and early attention, we can identify and solve potential problems before they become entrenched and chronic. With this in mind, the pastor is asking for your honest and open opinion on this first survey. Any information that you share will be confidential. The pastor will receive only a print out of the results of this survey as Elder Julia Vernon will collect and collate the information, burn the original papers, and then forward a printout of the results of this survey to the pastor.

Secondly, we are handing out a Departmental Exit Survey for all our Departmental Heads to complete and turn into the pastor. The purpose of this survey is twofold: 1) to help in the nominating process to see what likely candidates we have to fill particular church ministries and 2) to help us identify and recognize the achievements of the various departments. Please, filling out these surveys is an essential tool in ensuring the continued success of our ministry here in Salt Lake City.
